Tau Day 2012

In honor of Tau Day, I worked on more cookies for the cookieghan.

For those of you unfamiliar, with tau (the circle constant that is twice as nice as pi) Michael Hartl, one of the more vocal proponents of retiring the constant pi in favor of tau, has written this manifesto which will elucidate for you the reasons his preferred constant is better and pi is wrong.

As for me, any reason/excuse to crochet circles is good, so today when I was not doing laundry or running errands, I made more of the crochet cookies I need for the baker’s dozen cookieghan.

At or about sunset on Tuesday, I had gotten this far:

Tonight, as the sun was beginning to dip on the horizon, I had made this much progress:

Having completed a baker’s dozen of cookies in two day’s time has left me with forty crochet cookies yet to go.

If am to finish all of these cookies by June 30, I may well need a cup of coffee this large filled several times:

Is there such a thing as enough coffee?

So while I think there is an outside chance, I could finish the cookies in two days, I am beginning to face the reality that crocheting all of the necessary cookies may spill into the month of July, and my larger goal, at this point, is to have the cookieghan itself completed by July 14, so that I can kick off my Bastille Day celebration with a different project.
