A bit of sunshine

Some much awaited sun arrived today, and my entire day was focused on using as much of it as possible.

When I first awoke, the deck was still damp from yesterday’s all-day rain, so I went about my household chores, and did some much needed grocery shopping, laying in enough groceries to last through most of the week.

By the time I was finished with my household obligations, the deck was dry enough for met to layout the pieces of the afghan and start on the joining.

My initial efforts went slowly as I tried to figure out what the most effective joining protocol would be. In the last hour before the sun set, I finally settled on an order to the joining that allowed me to attach the pieces with a maximum of ease and a minimum of awkwardness.

Here is a photo of the pieces that I joined:

I have a lot of work to do between sunrise tomorrow and the October 8, 2012, entry deadline for this year’s state fair, but at long last, I am beginning to think I just might get it done.
